Courses

South West TAFE offers a wide variety of courses across various study areas to cater to different interests and career goals. They have over 150 nationally recognised qualifications and short courses. Here's an overview of the main study areas:  

Broad Study Areas:

• Agriculture, Conservation & Horticulture: Courses cover areas like general agriculture, dairy production, conservation and ecosystem management, horticulture, landscape construction, nursery operations, parks and gardens, and wool classing.  
• Arts: Includes courses designed to develop artistic skills and creativity. Examples include introduction to studio arts, printmaking, and ceramics.  
• Building & Construction: This area offers courses in building and construction, civil construction (including road construction and maintenance), landscape construction, plumbing, and related fields. They also have pre-apprenticeship courses.

• Automotive: Courses in light vehicle mechanical technology, automotive vocational preparation, and automotive air conditioning technology.

• Cabinet + Furniture Making: Courses focused on cabinet making and timber technology.

• Electrical: Includes pre-vocational electrotechnology studies and the Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician. They also offer courses in working safely in the solar industry and solar battery storage installation (coming soon).
