How to Reset Your Password and Unlock Your Account
Self-service password reset and account unlock procedures for IT Help Desk
Overview
• If you've forgotten your password, you can reset it using the "Forgot Password" link
• If your account has been locked due to multiple failed login attempts, IT Help Desk can unlock it
• Both issues can typically be resolved without calling IT
Option 1: Self-Service Password Reset
1. On the login screen, click the "Forgot Password?" link
2. Enter your email address
3. Check your email for a verification code
4. Enter the code in the password reset form
5. Create a new password that you haven't used before
6. Log in with your new password
Option 2: Contact IT Help Desk
If the password reset link isn't sending a verification code, or if your account is locked, contact IT Help Desk with the following information:
• Your full name
• Your employee ID
• Brief description of the issue (password reset code not received, account locked, etc.)
Password Requirements
When creating a new password, remember:
• Your new password cannot be the same as any previous password
• Use a strong password with a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters
• Avoid using easily guessable information like birthdate or company name
Security Questions
You can update your security questions anytime by:
7. Logging into your account
8. Going to your account profile
9. Locating the "Security Questions" section
